Here is the solution. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1761370
" my problems with Wifi not working properly were gone after adding the following line to the end of the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf blacklist rt2800pci"
My problem with a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04 was solved with the blacklist line ! !
In my case the blue led of the WiFi button was blinking blue and orange all the time. Now works fine and the led is blue all the time. The only problem is that the WiFi button works BUT it doesn't change color to orange... I mean "the button works but the color doesn't change when the WiFi is off".
Na nálam is ez oldotta meg a wifi gondom. Akkor mi is ez a blacklist rt2800pci ?
New kernel ships the "old" rt2860sta and the "new" driver "rt2800pci", the two drivers conflict each other and you need to blacklist the second one (the "newer").
